Leg of Lam(b)ent

This piece may be called Leg of Lamb/Meant or Vegan’s Lament ; Queen of the Juice; Pulling Legs; Pot … Luck; Not Luck; Wing of Chicken; Wing of Child: Chicken Wings; Clipping Wings; Hello-Cop-ter Crucifaction; Putrifaction; Putrid Friction; Potluck Fracture

as a result of my satire below, i was kicked from membership of my community garden and in turn, created the art piece above.

my community garden plans a potluck for earth day:

Hello everyone,

Spring meeting and Earth Day Community Potluck is next Saturday, April 22nd.
After the meeting, we want to welcome people in the garden and share food
Please, let me know if you are able to donate any kind of food …

the first response was this:
Rick and Tina will donate a leg of lamb.
Thank you for organizing!

to which i responded:

i will donate a leg of human (sautéed in mushroom sauce)

p.s. this dish is the one exception i make to my veganism. a sample of my best cooking talents.
i received a response:
Nancy thank you for your petition and response to my donation;
Tina

and finally to all garden members, i sent the following:

i apologize to any  who may have been shocked at my offer to donate a leg of human, after my hearing of the generous offer by tina and rick to donate leg of lamb for our earth day community potluck.  i wish to alleviate any fears or concerns by clarifying: my leg of human will not be obtained by killing you; any mutual acquaintance;  garden member nor any person you may know

further, to obtain this leg,  unlike with the lamb (“of god” – it is easter now isn’t it?), the human didn’t have to be crucified, i mean, sacrificed, hung upside down by one leg and have her throat slit. not at all. this dish, the only exception i make to my veganism, will be obtained without taking ANY life.  i will purchase the leg directly from a nearby hospital morgue before the rest of the body is sent to “hart” island’s potter’s fileld (burial ground for unclaimed bodies and the poor) – thus, i usually get a pretty good deal.

and contrary to the donation of leg of lamb, my leg of human will not involve the taking of the life of a baby, as tasty a preference as that may be. i will use the human leg of a fully grown adult.  though it, as with all dead carcasses, has no (essential) fiber (that comes only from plant foods), i find the adult human flesh more chewy and a piece of muscle tissue into which one can really sink one’s fangs, i mean, teeth.

and don’t worry about my purchasing a leg from a diseased human’s body, as i only obtain these from people who’ve been killed in car accidents, on the battlefield or the like. the rot, bacteria and fungi that develop from the natural decay of flesh of a human is no more than from that of a lamb, chicken, fish or other carcass that is not devoured immediately by say a true carnivore, tiger or lion, or a true omnivore, wolf, coyote, dog or bear.

so by not necessitating the taking of a life, you would be correct in assuming that my leg of human is a more compassionate meal. since we all want to see ourselves and be seen by others as caring, compassionate people, perhaps you too will consider human body parts, obtained in a similar way, for your own culinary choices.

and not only is it more compassionate but it is no more disease producing than consumption of any other form of animal protein. when i devour my leg of human, my philosophy and i hope yours too, is why concern myself with things that haven’t yet happened such as cancer, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, stroke, kidney and liver disease etc. all of which have been directly associated with the  consumption of animal protein. it makes more sense, i’m convinced, to wait until these show up on an x-ray as a cancerous tumor or till my heart muscles become so clogged, i have a full blown heart attack or need bypass surgery or have a stroke that paralyses half my body. why jump the gun? (or the gut?)

besides, why would anyone want to threaten the income of doctors and the profits of hospitals, drug and insurance companies and industries that torture and kill animals to find cures for these ailments? eating my (exceptionally delicious) leg of human might kill me, but what’s more important – my life or the return on the dividends from stock i may have invested in one or more of these corporations? seriously, i ask you now.
anyway, we’re soon coming upon this community potluck celebration. let’s not think about any of these personal concerns- food, health, animal welfare, our stocks, etc. let’s focus on more global issues. after all, this is our earth day gathering! – a day to focus on the environment, climate change, the future of our planet earth! so while we’re stuffing dead animal parts (human too, i hope) into our faces and stuffing down the emotions that might arise when we consider what the animal (with the exception of my human) had to endure to become our food, we can also stuff down any acknowledgement that consuming animals (and milk and eggs) is contributing to the destruction of our planet faster than all the other industries combined. Screen Shot 2017-04-16 at 10.26.03 PM

wow that’s a lot of stuffing things down. which reminds me, with my leg of human, i make an absolutely deee-licious stuffing. yup!  i’ll bring that too. you’ll be mightily impressed. yum!  honestly, i can’t wait to share my cuisine and have my extraordinary cooking talents receive your highest of praises.

cheers!
nancy

p.s. for the next garden community potluck, i plan to bring another of my exotic specialties (human, of course) tongue (“een cheeque”).  ‘;-)

About blossomfire

I've walked this life path with sweet thoughts and burning wishes, a sound sense of purpose and an urgent need to express. Shy at first, I've overcome oceans of self doubt and self consciousness to seek an audience, ears like blossoms bending to the wondering wind. I am simple now. I am simple as a way to reach out. Worlds, galaxies, pivotal people, mushrooms, spiraling whilrlpools, i'm textured and wired for communication. Simply wired for fundamental transformation. A vision. A quest. A manifestation of divine Life, Light and Love. My name means Grace. A free gift, a talent, a value from the ultimate word maker, the Infinite Mind of the Infinite One. My mind to yours. Tree to limb, leaf to belief, falling and rising and knowing at the same time. Im Nancy (Grace) and grateful to know you.
