UnCivil War: Cows Cotton & Cruel Control

Screen Shot 2017-10-06 at 7.56.19 PMThis piece was inspired by the powerful film “Free State of Jones” (w/Matthew McConaughey), as the text at the bottom says. Above this (in semi-circle) is inscribed: “England owned US cattle and slaughter operations.” This gave England’s wealthy capitalists the money to “purchase cotton and fancy shirts” as texted above the outstretched arm donning … a fancy shirt. This demand for cotton gave rise to the increase in the US of slave labor to pick all the cotton. Arrows point to this violent cycle: enslavement and slaughter of animals leads to enslavement of British workers, leads to enslavement of Africans kidnapped from their homes, leads to US civil war and the advance of industrial capitalism (wage slavery) over slave-capitalism, all beginning with humans’ enslavement, exploitation and killing of our sister brother animals 40-70,000 years ago.

About blossomfire

I've walked this life path with sweet thoughts and burning wishes, a sound sense of purpose and an urgent need to express. Shy at first, I've overcome oceans of self doubt and self consciousness to seek an audience, ears like blossoms bending to the wondering wind. I am simple now. I am simple as a way to reach out. Worlds, galaxies, pivotal people, mushrooms, spiraling whilrlpools, i'm textured and wired for communication. Simply wired for fundamental transformation. A vision. A quest. A manifestation of divine Life, Light and Love. My name means Grace. A free gift, a talent, a value from the ultimate word maker, the Infinite Mind of the Infinite One. My mind to yours. Tree to limb, leaf to belief, falling and rising and knowing at the same time. Im Nancy (Grace) and grateful to know you.
