Anatomy of Speciesism

Perhaps more than any other oppression, speciesism is least understood, recognized or acknowledged. The multi-dimensionality of its impact on every phase of our lives is hidden, distorted and/or denied.  As is demonstrated in the above painting, vegans, myself included, sometimes feel we must DRILL a point into someone’s skull to help them “get it,” IT, in this case, being an actual point, the tip of an arrow.  We want the person to “under-stand” or stand “under” the point. Many of us also surmise that the consumption of animal products (meat, dairy, eggs) physically dulls the mind and its ability to see and understand clearly. It’s not only a habit conditioned by parents, teachers, religious leaders, etc throughout our impressionable youth but also the actual fatty tissue that surrounds the arteries of the brain which impedes blood flow AND the capacity to think (see .above: “meat-dulled head” as part of the anatomy of Speciesism in the Human “E-Race”). I also point to a “pea-sized shrunken heart,” which has lost its ability to feel, empathize, demonstrate compassion noticeably to our sister brother animal kin.

About blossomfire

I've walked this life path with sweet thoughts and burning wishes, a sound sense of purpose and an urgent need to express. Shy at first, I've overcome oceans of self doubt and self consciousness to seek an audience, ears like blossoms bending to the wondering wind. I am simple now. I am simple as a way to reach out. Worlds, galaxies, pivotal people, mushrooms, spiraling whilrlpools, i'm textured and wired for communication. Simply wired for fundamental transformation. A vision. A quest. A manifestation of divine Life, Light and Love. My name means Grace. A free gift, a talent, a value from the ultimate word maker, the Infinite Mind of the Infinite One. My mind to yours. Tree to limb, leaf to belief, falling and rising and knowing at the same time. Im Nancy (Grace) and grateful to know you.
